BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Celtics had their second-highest scoring output of the season in a 118-111 win over the Detroit Pistons last night. Kris Humphries added a season-high 20 points. That includes two free throws with 25 seconds left to help Boston seal the win. Humphries also led Boston with 11 rebounds.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - LaQuinton Ross scored 22 points to lead Ohio State past No. 22 Michigan State 69-67 yesterday. The Spartans failed to score over the final 4:30 as Ohio State scored the game's final four points. Adreian Payne scored 23 points, Gary Harris had 12 and Denzel Valentine 11 for the Spartans.
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) - Giancarlo Stanton hit his first home run of spring training for Miami as the Marlins lost to the Tigers 3-1 yesterday. Alex Avila had a two-out, two-run double in the eighth for the Tigers. Stanton homered on the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the fourth.
SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - The Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League say center Terry Trafford has been missing from the team for six days. Trafford was last seen Monday at the Dow Event Center. Team president Craig Goslin says the team is "very concerned for the young man" and hopes he's found soon.
