Coast Guard rescues 2 from boat on Saginaw Bay

Posted: Updated:

The U.S. Coast Guard reports the rescue of two men who were stranded overnight aboard a disabled boat in Saginaw Bay.

The Coast Guard said in a news release Sunday that one of its boats towed the men's boat to a dock in Eessexville.

The Coast Guard says the men are believed to be in good health.

It says it got a report of the boat about 11:35 p.m. Saturday.

It says a man with a 19-foot boat went in search of the other, disabled 19-foot boat to help a friend aboard.

The civilian searcher was able to give the Coast Guard some idea of the location of the missing boat.

The Coast Guard says a helicopter and rescue boat searched for the disabled boat, and the helicopter spotted it.
