Another local college hiking tuition

SVSU is not the only school charging students more for higher education.

UM-Flint raised tuition seven-percent, after Gov. Rick Snyder cut 15-percent from the budget for public universities.

That means a full time student will pay nearly $600 more in tuition and fees-- starting next fall.

Officials say everyone is making sacrifices to keep costs as low as possible.

Graduate students aren't getting hit as hard. They'll only see a 4.9 percent increase in tuition and fees.
