Woman sought in connection to civil rights activist death

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

For several days, the Flint Police Department has been investigating leads in connection with the Friday homicide of Attorney C. Frederick Robinson.

Police said based on their investigations, the department has identified a "person of interest."

Police said they are looking for Rene Williams. The 31-year-old woman was last seen in the Flint area on Sunday, June 19. Authorities said Williams also answers to the name "Lucky."

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call Flint Sergeant Brett Small at 810-237-6901 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.

Just before 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 17, Flint police responded to a call at Robinson's home in the 1700 block of Brookside Dr. When they arrived, they found the body of Robinson inside the home, an apparent victim of a shooting. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prior to his death Robinson had been a civil rights activist and attorney in the City of Flint since the 1950s.
