A man accused of beating another man with a baseball bat went before a judge. Police said road rage is to blame for an attack that happened over the weekend in Bay City.

Brandon Carbeno is accused of pulling out a baseball bat and attacking another man just moments after the Styx concert let out at the Dow Bay City River Roar.

Carbeno is charged with assault with intent to commit murder and assault with intent to commit great bodily harm.

The judge set his bond at $500,000.

Bay City police said Carbeno hit a 44-year-old man in the head with a bat, and they said the reason behind the outburst was road rage.

One driver allegedly cut off another in traffic around 10:30 Saturday night at Liberty Harbor Marina, and that confrontation escalated to an assault.

At last check, the victim is still in critical condition at Bay Regional Medical Center. In court the prosecution said the victim is in a coma.
