The Be Cool car show is putting Bay City into over-drive and folks like Jeff Bennett are ready.
"I enjoy meeting the people, there are a lot of interesting people in the old car hobby," says Bennett, one of the committee members.
Committee members spend months revving up for the Be Cool car show. The event has been around for about a dozen years and features both a car cruise and a car show with hundreds of different classics.
"It's so exciting downtown, the streets are full of cars and they're full of people," says Mike Thelen, who's car dealership is one of the co-sponsors of the event.
Thousands of people come out to see the car in action for the cruise and the car show, giving the area a big shot in the arm.
"It's good for the business downtown because you get a lot of business downtown, many of whom have not been in downtown Bay City before," says Bennett.
Though businesses get a big boost from the Be Cool car show, one charity also reaps in the benefits. All of the proceeds raised are donated to the American Cancer Society.
"We're all about bringing a little bit to Bay City and giving a little bit back," says Thelen.
