Several groups try to boost state's electric vehicle industry

LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

Several groups across the state hope to increase Michigan's electric vehicle industry.

The initiative is designed to expand electric vehicle production.

The Brookings Institution says electric cars are the fastest-growing clean technology job creator in Michigan.

Three press conferences will be held today.

The first will be held at 10:30 a.m. at West Michigan Environmental Action Council in Grand Rapids.

The next one is at 11:30 a.m. at the Electrical Industry Training Center in Warren.

The last announcement is at 1:30 a.m. at the Lansing Board of Water and Light in Lansing.
