After three days of searching, the family told TV5 divers recovered the body of Bryan Gross, 29, from the water.
Gross, a Mid-Michigan native, went missing after he helped save a teenage girl from the Platte River in Wyoming on Thursday.
After the girl was saved, rescue crews did a head count and realized one of their own was missing. Crews started searching the fields and water. An U.S. Air force Helicopter along with cadaver dogs were also brought in to help with the search.
"The sheriff's department posted at two of the bridges and we stayed there all night," said Don Schoenleber, Converse County Undersheriff.
Gross graduated from Gladwin High School in 2000. Gross also just got married this month. He also joined the Converse County Sheriff's Department four months ago as a deputy.
