IOSCO COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF0 tornado touched down just south of Tawas City, in Iosco County around 4:50 Sunday afternoon.
About 40 trees and six homes were damaged when the twister hit along Douglas Road, east of US-23.
Officials say it was on the ground for about two-tenths of a mile, and had winds estimated at 70 mph.
Eyewitnesses say they saw the tornado move out over Lake Huron.
The photos above were sent to TV5 from a viewer and offers a detailed view of the destruction.
An EF0 was confirmed in Midland County, near Sanford, on July 25.
Counting the Tawas tornado, Mid-Michigan has had four confirmed tornados so far this year.
