GENEVA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Ace investigative work - and a sleeping suspect - aided southwestern Michigan authorities in their hunt for a man accused of stealing all-terrain vehicles from a Van Buren County homeowner's garage.
Sheriff's officials say they arrested 26-year-old Ryan Finley of Stevensville sleeping on the ground against 1 of 2 stolen four-wheelers near the residence Wednesday morning
Officers say Finley told them he took a Valium and had no idea where he was, but denied stealing anything.
Deputies followed vehicle tracks from the garage in Geneva Township through wet grass to the two-track road, where they found the vehicles and Finley.
Finley was arraigned Thursday on a charge of larceny from a building and ordered jailed on a $5,000 bond. The sheriff's department couldn't say if he has a lawyer.
