MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - The faculty union at Central Michigan University plans a membership meeting to decide whether to call a strike over the failure to reach a labor contract with the Mount Pleasant school.
The meeting is to start at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
The two sides last bargained July 14. The Morning Sun says a fact finder has joined the process and is focusing on 17 issues separating the two sides.
The professors union has been without a contract since June 30.
The semester starts Aug. 22, and the Detroit Free Press reports the administration is planning to start hold classes on time despite the dispute.
