Here is a list of some of the local events planned for the 10th anniversary of 9/11:
Friday:
- UM-Flint Remembers 9/11 candlelight vigil corner of Saginaw and Kearsley Streets 8 p.m.
Saturday:
- Saginaw Masonic Lodge 77 hosts Veterans Appreciation Day, 2655 N. Center Road, Saginaw 11 a.m.
- Pit and Balcony Community Theatre presents: The Guys, 805 N. Hamilton Street Saginaw 8 p.m.
Sunday:
- Genesee County Firefighters Association Memorial Service in Genesee Township 10 a.m.
- Owosso First Church of God honors the victims of 9-11 during its 10:45 a.m. Morning Worship Service
- First Baptist Church memorial in Flint 11 a.m.
- Frankenmuth Military Museum in Frankenmuth 11 a.m.
- Church memorial on Ojibway Island in Saginaw Noon - 4 p.m.
- Woman of the Moose Memorial Service, Moose Lodge on Euclid in Bay City 12:45 p.m.
- Saginaw County Fire Association Memorial Service in Thomas Township 1 p.m.
- Motorcycle riders (or any vehicle) wanted for 9/11 ride from Alma to Frankenmuth. The group will meet at the Alma Wal-Mart at 1 p.m. and then travel to Frankenmuth
- Flint Mayor Walling will gather with members of the community for a National "Moment of Remembrance on the lawn of Flint City Hall 1 p.m.
- Memorial Service by American Police Chaplain's Association and Genesee County Sheriff's Department at Perani Arena in Flint 2 p.m.
- Memorial Dedication, features pieces of the World Trade Center at Mott Community College in Flint 2 p.m.
- Bells to toll for 9/11 victims and families during Mass of Remembrance at Cathedral Mass, 615 Hoyt Ave., Saginaw at 5:30 p.m.
- Kettering University with guest speaker: Steven L. Winter, the Walter S. Gibbs Professor of Constitutional Law at Wayne State University 6 p.m.
- SVSU Students to Hold Vigil to Mark 9-11 Anniversary near Living Center North 8 p.m.
