Firefighters extinguish fire at pizza joint

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Firefighters in Chesaning were called to a pizza restaurant to help put out a fire in a utility room. 

It happened just before noon at Arthur's Pizza on Front Street.

Authorities estimate about $30,000 in damage was done to the rear of the building. The fire was contained to the utility room.

Witnesses told TV5 that smoke was coming from the restaurant's roof. A TV5 photographer says he saw firefighters exiting the building with their arms full of insulation.

Firefighters say much of the building was damaged by smoke.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown. No injuries were reported.
