JEROME TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a 77-year-old Midland County man who died in a mobile home fire that four of his relatives were able to escape.
The sheriff's department said in a statement that Roland J. Mitchell died in the early Friday fire in Jerome Township. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
The department says Mitchell's 43-year-old daughter, her 44-year-old husband and their sons, ages 21 and 14, got out of the house.
The fire happened near Sanford, about 110 miles northwest of Detroit.
