Flushing celebrates Fall with weekend festival

Posted: Updated:
FLUSHING, MI (WNEM) -

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? You might consider heading out to Flushing in Genesee County.

Each fall, the Flushing Area Chamber of Commerce and local merchants host a weekend festival complete with everything that the fall season represents.

Caramel apples, pumpkin painting and apple pies are part of the atmosphere. There will also be some  good old foot-stomping music, which is best heard while relaxing on a bale of hay.

The fall festival traditionally begins with a children's parade through the center of town, complete with decorated bike, wagons, and even pets.

Also on tap: an arts & craft show, apple pie baking contest, scarecrow contest, children's activities, diaper derby, apple pie eating contest, beard contest and local entertainment.
