Boy electrocuted in tree day before 11th birthday

PINCONNING TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The Bay County Sheriff's Department says a boy who was one day shy of his 11th birthday was electrocuted while climbing a tree in front of his house.

The Bay City Times says the accident happened Saturday. The home is Pinconning Township, about 20 miles north-northwest of Bay City.

The sheriff's department identifies the boy as James Idzior.

Lt. Troy Cunningham says the power line that killed James was 1 of 3 that ran between the top branches of the tree he was climbing.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, with visitation Tuesday at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home.
