TV5 Meteorologist: Tonight's going to be windy!

Updated:
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Widespread rain hit Mid-Michigan this afternoon and high temperatures struggled to climb into the 50s.

These rain showers are the result of a strong low pressure system which is expected to deepen as it moves north.

This will mean very strong north easterly winds. Gusts over 35 mph are not out of the question especially for areas near the lakeshore.

The rain and strong winds will persist tonight with low temperatures falling into the mid 40s.

Here's your latest First Warn 5 forecast:

Tonight: Rain. Steady temperature around 50. Windy, with a north northeast wind between 31 and 33 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Thursday: Showers. Temperature rising to near 51 by 11am, then falling to around 46 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a north northeast wind between 16 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
