If you're into model trains then the Saginaw Railway Museum is the place to be this weekend.
The Saginaw Valley Railroad Historical Society will celebrate the beginning of National Model Railroad Month this Saturday, Nov. 5, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Saginaw Railway Museum, 900 Maple in Saginaw.
Exhibits include a large HO Scale model railroad operating in the basement. Other displays include a 25-ton switch engine that spent many years in Carrollton, recently made operational, an Alco RS-1 locomotive that formerly worked in the yard at the Karn-Weadock (Consumers Energy) plant in Essexville, two cabooses, a display about the US Bicentennial, and information about the Transcontinental Railroad.
Admission is free, but donations are asked. Also, anyone who donates $20 will receive a one-year individual membership.
