Students at Carter Middle School got a chance to learn lessons in anti-bullying in some unique ways today.
The Bully-Free Amazing Wonder Show, hosted by Chris Dixon of bullyfreeschools.com, made a stop in Clio.
Kids got a chance to see Dixon in action, performing magic tricks and comedy, while still putting out an anti-bullying message.
"I learned the different types of bullying, the star program, how you have four steps to identify bullying and stop it," says Will Hearn, an eighth grader.
"The magic was fun but mainly about the bullying, it showed us how not to be a victim," says Brendan Smith, a seventh grader.
The principal hopes one of the key things the kids learned from the assembly is how to ask for help if they're a victim of bullying.
"It can be very frustrating when we find that maybe someone has been harassed or bullied for a period of time and no one in the school knows about it," says Carter Middle School Principal, Neil Bedell.
The principal hopes the kids take the anti-bullying message to heart and also spread the word among their classmates.
"Bullying's not a good thing and they should never do it because it emotionally scars people," says Smith.
The bully-free amazing wonder show also made a stop at Lacure Elementary.
