HOLLY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The Great Lakes National Cemetery in northwestern Oakland County is holding a Veterans Day ceremony to honor those who have served in the armed forces.
The Flint Journal says the keynote speaker will be Michael Zehnder, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam war who now serves as director of the Oakland County Department of Public Services.
The ceremony starts Friday at 11 a.m. at the cemetery in Holly Township, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit. The cemetery opened in 2005.
The ceremony is to include patriotic music, presentation of colors, a cannon salute, rifle salute and taps.
