Where's Bane? State police search for their dog

OCQUEOC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A year later, the Michigan State Police still is seeking tips about the disappearance of a German Shepherd who was searching for a missing man in Presque Isle County.

The Cheboygan Daily Tribune says Bane is a police dog from the Alpena post. In November 2010, Bane was helping police search for a 70-year-old man when the dog suddenly began chasing a deer.

The missing man's remains were discovered but Bane has not been found. The Michigan State Police Troopers Association is offering a $4,000 reward and Crime Stoppers is pledging $1,000.
