Duck hunter dies, 2 rescued from Monroe County waters

ERIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a duck hunter died and two others were rescued after the boat they were using overturned in Monroe County during a rainstorm.

The Monroe Evening News reports 75-year-old Carl G. Jennings of Fenton died in the Tuesday accident in Erie Township, about 45 miles southwest of Detroit. His body was found after a more than two-hour search near a public access point for Halfway Creek.

Authorities say two other men were rescued from the water and treated for exposure.

Morin Point firefighters and Monroe County sheriff's deputies used boats in the search. The Coast Guard also was involved.
