ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a man working on a creek restoration project at a park in Ann Arbor was killed when another member of his crew backed over him with an excavating machine.
Washtenaw County sheriff's spokesman Derrick Jackson says the accident happened about 1:10 p.m. Tuesday at County Farm Park. A contracting crew is engaged in restoration work on Malletts Creek in the park.
Jackson says a 57-year-old man from Marshall was working on foot when the excavator's operator apparently didn't see him and backed over him. Jackson says the injured man died at a hospital.
The spokesman says the victim's name will be released after authorities notify his relatives.
