GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A Grand Rapids-area man faces two charges on accusations he failed to inform a sex partner that he has the AIDS virus.
Grand Rapids police say David D. Smith was first charged last week, three days after he voluntarily told detectives that he had been having unprotected sex. He said there were many partners, but he only knew a few names.
The 51-year-old is in the Kent County jail. His lawyer's name isn't known, and there's no phone listing for him.
Kent County prosecutors tell WOOD-TV they issued a second arrest warrant against Smith on Wednesday.
The county Health Department says people who had sex with Smith should contact the agency for an HIV test. It says Smith suggested he was intentionally trying to infect people.
