TV5 Meteorologist Catherine Bodak said a few bands of lake-effect snow will diminish during the late morning hours. For the rest of the day, the coldest air mass of the season so far will move across the area.
"Expect high temperatures to reach 20 degrees with wind chill values around zero," Bodak said. "Tonight there is a chance for some scattered snow, with overnight lows dipping into the upper teens."
Bodak said Mid-Michigan will have a few lingering snow showers on tap for Wednesday with dry conditions for Thursday and Friday.
A gradual warming trend is expected for the remainder of the week, with high temperatures by Friday around 40 degrees.
The bitter cold turning a frown upside down for some local business owners. Apple Mountain in Thomas Township has been open for the past couple of weeks. Workers tell TV5 that skiers and boarders are keeping them busy. Over the last couple of weeks, the resort has been making its own snow. They're hoping for the real thing to drop soon so more people with hit the slopes.
