SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) - A Sault Ste. Marie man has taken the biggest bobcat of his more than half-century as a predator hunter.
Ron Edgerly recently bagged a 40-plus-pounder he called "the biggest one" he's ever seen.
And Edgerly has plenty of experience.
His best year for hunting bobcats was in 1957 when he and a partner teamed up to take 23 of them.
Michigan Department of Natural Resources regulations now allow hunters to bag up to two bobcats per season, preventing Edgerly from repeating his 1957 haul.
But that doesn't mean he's ready to hang up his rifle.
Edgerly tells The Evening News (http://bit.ly/zOirjX ) he'll continue to hunt coyotes up here before heading to Florida later this month, where the coyote population is booming.
