SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
An observant convenience clerk and store patron helped police capture a suspect in an armed robbery Tuesday.
The Shiawassee County Sheriff's office says the Town Tub gas station in the city of Corunna was robbed at about 9 p.m.
Deputies say a woman walked into the store, approached the clerk and demanded money. She told the clerk she was armed with a gun.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the woman entered a vehicle and departed eastbound, according to a news release.
The clerk and store customer were able to provide police with a detailed description of the suspect's vehicle. About 40 minutes later, the suspect vehicle was spotted by a Michigan State Trooper.
A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, a 33-year-old Corunna woman, is lodged at the Shiawassee County Jail awaiting formal charges and arraignment.
