HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

An investigation into a stolen deer blind led sheriff's deputies to much more than a $550 blind.

Huron County Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson said a 35-year-old parolee has been arrested in connection to the theft, and the thefts of a $1,400 wood burner and dozens of tools.

The thefts occurred near Bad Axe and authorities are working to return the stolen items to their rightful owners. The blind and wood burner have already been returned.

The unidentified man has been on parole since August of 2010 on felony convictions related to larcenies.

The value of these items is estimated to be in the thousands, possibly more than $8,000. The tools and materials are currently being stored the Huron County Sheriff's office.

Hanson said the investigation is suggesting that random thefts may have taken place county wide, if not even out of Huron County, and they may have not been reported.
