FRANKENMUTH, MI (WNEM) -
On Friday morning, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland held its fifth annual Hot Shot Local Media Archery Contest for Charity.
Six local media "celebrities" had their archery skills tested to win money for their designated charities.
The slideshow above shows the contestants in action.
The six media "celebrities" were Peter Brooks from 99.7 Family Life Radio (playing for Youth Haven Ranch), Katie Morin with the Saginaw News and the Bay City Times (playing for the Saginaw County and Bay County Humane Societies), Johnny Burke of WHNN (playing for the Johnny Burke Children's Foundation), Tom Lounsbury from the Tuscola County Advertiser (playing for the Thumb Area Big Brothers/Big Sisters), Joel Feick of NBC25 (playing for the Whaley Children's Center), and WNEM-TV5's Jason Fielder (playing for the Saginaw Habitat for Humanity).
Each participant took three shots at the target, and after the first round of action, Johnny Burke, Tom Lounsbury, and Jason Fielder advanced to the final round.
After the final round of action, Tom Lounsbury emerged as the winner, earning the top prize of $1,014 for his charity. For making the final round, Jason Fielder and Johnny Burke earned $100 each for their charities, while the rest of the participants earned $50 each for their charities.
The event took place in conjunction with Bronner's "Be My Valentine" sale. For the entire month of February, guests who spend $14 or more will receive 14 percent off most in-store purchases.
WNEM-TV5 would like to thank the Bronner family for their hard-work and generosity in sponsoring the event, including everyone who works at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland.
