DO NOT SET TO DRAFT - Test - Police investigating Saginaw

Police are investigating a robbery at the United Financial Credit Union on Weiss, near Bay Road.

A TV5 photographer passing the location noticed a half-dozen police cars in the parking lot. Authorities were searching the neighborhoods near the bank and had even taken a person out of a pulled over vehicle at gunpoint. That person was later released.

Police told TV5 photographer Bud Jones that they are searching for an African-American man, but didn't elaborate on the suspect.

The Saginaw Police Department and Saginaw Township Police, as well as Saginaw County Sheriff's deputies were investigating. A K-9 unit is trying to tracking the suspect, who remains at large.

Authorities are speculating that the same man who robbed an Independence Bank on Brockway at Center Road last week could be behind this robbery. Police said the man had a gun at the time of the Independent Bank robbery, and that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the bank.

The man is still on the loose and anyone with information is asked to contact Saginaw Township Police at 989-793-2310.
