SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Local students have a new place to stay out of harm's way.
The Boys and Girls Club at Longfellow Elementary is holding its grand opening.
The club will have all sorts of after-school programs based on education, leadership, health and life skills.
William Traxler, the Director of Program Operations, tells WNEM TV5 why the club is a great place to bring your children.
"It's a safe place to bring your child after school. A lot of children can get in trouble, and this is a place where they can come in. We have a professional staff that will treat their children just like their kids. It's a great place to hang out."
The Boys and Girls Club is on Brown Street just off Remington Avenue on Saginaw's east side.
It costs $10 for a year membership.
