LANSING, MI (WNEM) -
Since no one matched the Powerball's six numbers for $250 million on Wednesday night, the jackpot has rolled over once again.
Now the jackpot is up to $310 million for Saturday night's drawing. If the winning player chooses to take the cash value, that's $193.4 million bucks.
This jackpot is close to the all-time biggest Powerball jackpot of $364 million, which was won in Nebraska on Feb. 18, 2006.
According to the Michigan Lottery Commission, over 95 cents of every dollar spent on lotto tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers.
In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
