STANDISH, MI (WNEM) -
It was quite the close call for one local school bus after it was rear-ended while crossing a set of railroad tracks.
TV5 viewer Cameron White sent us a short video clip of the vehicle that hit the Standish-Sterling school bus. That vehicle burst into flames after the crash. Two photos showing the crash can be seen to the right.
The bus was doing rounds around 3 p.m. Monday when it made a routine stop before crossing the tracks. Our tipster says that's when the bus was rear ended by the car.
TV5 placed calls to the Standish Police chief to confirm exactly what happened and to see if any students were on board. We are still waiting for a response.
