SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities investigating a two-car crash on Swan Creek Road in Saginaw County have released the names of two people involved in the fatal crash.

Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel says deputies were dispatched to the scene around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday on Swan Creek Road, just west of Miller Road in James Township.

Police said a 1991 red two-door Oldsmobile was driven by Tomi Alfred Rychling, a 47-year-old man from Maple Grove Township. Rychling's vehicle was traveling east bound on Swan Creek Road and crossed the center line, striking a 1987 gray Toyota station wagon driven by Carol Jean Carson, a 50-year-old woman from St. Charles.

Federspiel said Carson's vehicle was west bound on Swan Creek Road and she was killed as a result of the vehicle crash.

Rychling suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Covenant Hospital. Authorities said their investigation into the crash is ongoing.
