MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

Mt. Pleasant police officers have made an arrest in a gas drive-off robbery at a Speedway gas station on Monday.

The South Mission Street gas station attendant told officers that a person had pumped over $40 in gas in a white SUV and then left without paying.

With the assistance of the gas station attendant and another witness, police were able to determine the vehicle information and identify a suspect.

Through investigation, it was learned that this same suspect and vehicle were involved in another gas larceny at the Citgo located at 910 West Pickard. That particular larceny was captured on video.

Mt. Pleasant police officers immediately began attempts to locate the suspect and vehicle.

On Tuesday morning, a Mt. Pleasant officer located and stopped a vehicle matching the description in the city limits. Upon questioning the driver, he admitted to intentionally stealing the gas.

The driver was then arrested for the larceny of gas and having no insurance on the vehicle. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Isabella County Jail.
