Students from the Tuscola Technology Center are getting ready to do a little showing off this weekend.
They're getting ready to display a few of their automotive creations, including their very own hot rod at the 60th Annual Detroit Autorama, billed as America's Greatest Hot Rod Show.
The kids at the tech center have been working on the T-Bucket for a few years and now that it's done, they can't wait to show it off.
"I had a blast working on this," Senior Trever Brown said. "I never thought in a million years, I'd ever get to build and work on one of these."
The hot rod was built from the ground up at the center - design and drafting, welding and fabrication, engine mechanics, electronics and finally body work.
Principal Shawn Petri of the Tuscola Technology Center told me, "Kids usually don't get to start on something like a T-Bucket project till they're well into their career. Here we have an opportunity to show students many different skills that are out there."
"The T-Bucket's not something you see everyday. It's awesome, we're all very proud of it," says Junior Cynthia Fischer one of only two girls in the collision repair class. "This is my life right here, it's fun and I can live with doing it everyday."
