BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Bay City police tell us a standoff that took place overnight is over and a suspect is in custody.

At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a home in the 1700 block of South Chilson Street on the Bay City's west side. Officers learned a husband and wife were fighting and the husband was armed with a gun.

On scene, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect by telephone. The suspect refused to talk to officers and he locked himself in his home.

He was jailed in Bay County on felony assault charges.
