SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Inclement weather continues to push through Mid-Michigan, with wind gusts expected to reach up to 50 mph.
Along with a wintry mix of thunderstorms, rain and snow, much of the area could see extremely windy conditions Friday and Saturday.
The National Weather Service says winds will be out of the east Friday afternoon with gusts as high as 21 mph. On Saturday, an east-southeast wind 11 to 14 mph will turn west between 29 and 32 mph.
"The strongest winds are expected to occur between 9 p.m. tonight and 5 a.m. Saturday," TV5 meteorologist Catherine Bodak added.
A high wind watch is in effect for Genesee County, Gratiot County, Huron County, Shiawassee County and Tuscola County through Saturday morning.
The strong winds could result in the downing of large limbs and trees. Downed power lines and power outages are also possible. Winds could also result in blowing and drifting of snow.
