SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
A Saginaw County travel center recently sold a winning $4.4 million Cash for Life instant ticket. To boot, the anonymous winner said they didn't even plan to buy the ticket.
"I didn't mean to put $20 into the lottery ticket machine, I thought I grabbed a $10," the lucky top prize winner said. "I had to buy something. I picked the $10 Cash for Life ticket because I only play $10 tickets - it wasn't even what I wanted."
Michigan Lottery officials said the winning $10 Cash for Life ticket entitles the winner to $4,000 a week for life.
The winner, from Flint, has the option of receiving annual payments during their lifetime in the amount of $208,000, with a minimum prize guarantee of $4,160,000 or a one-time cash payment option of $4,428,422.
The winner is planning on using the prize money to live "debt free from bills and mortgage payments."
The winning ticket was sold by TA-Saginaw Travel Center, located at 6364 Dixie Hwy., in Bridgeport.
