FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Members of Mid Michigan's Jewish community are getting ready to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance day on Thursday.  There is also a special program next Sunday called "Voices of the holocaust" designed to remember the victims and families of the six-million killed.

A community concert and ceremony is scheduled for the Flint Institute of Arts next Sunday April 22nd at 4pm to commemorate the slaughter of Jews and other people in Europe during World War Two.

Following the concert, there will be a candle lighting ceremony as a memorial to the victims.  Once again, that's next Sunday at 4 at the Flint Institute of Arts on Kearsley Street.

Several groups including the Flint Jewish Federation are sponsoring the unique event.
