BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) - Officials say the Independence Bridge in Bay City is closed because of electrical problems.
An alert was sent Thursday night saying the bridge would be closed until further notice. The source of the problem was given Friday.
Authorities say the span is partially open and that engineers and consultants are on site to trouble shoot the problem. The U.S. Coast Guard has also been notified to inform shippers of the situation.
Traffic is being redirected. The drawbridge provides access over the Saginaw River.
