SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Customers stopping to get their morning cup of Joe at a Saginaw Township convenience store got a scare of a lifetime Thursday morning.
Surveillance video from a 7-Eleven, located near the intersection of West Michigan and Center, showed a car crashing through the front window. It happened just before 9 a.m.
A store clerk and customer who were inside the store barely escaped the collision. The driver told TV5 it was an accident and the vehicle accelerated on its own.
"For some reason the motor started racing, and the tires started spinning," said Gary Storck. "My car went over the curb and was aiming for the store."
Storck described the experience as "sheer terror." Store officials say no one was injured.
Saginaw police are investigating the crash. No other details were released.
