Travis Mills
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
A local soldier who lost parts of his arms and legs in an explosion while in Afghanistan has posted a video message thanking everyone for their support.
Since the incident, Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, of Vassar, has been recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside of Washington, D.C.
On Monday, a 52-second video posted to the Travis Mills Facebook Support Group shows a playful Mills performing in front the camera.
Mills showed his recovery development by flipping his body to the left and to the right of the bed and even tells the camera, "wait for it…" before sitting up on his own.
Mills said he was unable to perform these simple tasks just last week.
"Wow, right?" Mills said with a smile on his face and the end of the video. "Thanks for following me and giving me the support you guys give me."
