Storm causes barn collapse in Saginaw County

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Massive storms over the holiday weekend cause a lot of damage for people in Mid-Michigan.

Part of a barn collapsed in Saginaw County's Blumfield Township and left debris scattered all over two neighbor's yards.

One of the residents says he was preparing for a birthday celebration when he saw shingles start coming off the barn.

"I saw the kids' playscape tumbling across the backyard. It was anchored down so I knew there was a problem. I actually saw some of the shingles coming off the barn but I didn't think it was to that magnitude," says Kevin Prime, the barn owner.

The flying debris also caused damage to Prime's neighbor's property, breaking several windows and scattered shingles, wood and nails across the yard.
