Everett Robinson
ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
Michigan State police said a man who has been on the lam ever since he overpowered a deputy and took the deputy's gun has been captured.
Fugitive Everett Robinson was taken into custody without incident at about 7 a.m. in Roscommon County.
Police said the 29-year-old was found in an elevated deer blind in Nester Township. He was dehydrated, dirty and had cuts over his body, especially on his feet, police said.
Robinson was a suspect in a home invasion when he escaped last Monday while being transported to Arenac County court from a jail.
Police said Robinson slipped a handcuff, disarmed the deputy, took his cellular telephone and stole the sheriff's department vehicle. The car was eventually abandoned.
While on the run, police said Robinson broke into at least one cabin, a travel trailer and three deer blinds.
Police said Robinson was also involved in other breaking and enterings, and may have a stolen a Beretta pistol. Police are asking citizens in the area to check their camps and cabins for stolen clothing or weapons.
The deputy's .45 caliber handgun has been recovered.
Additional charges are being sought for two counts of assault, breaking and entering, disarming a police officer and several other potential charges.
Robinson is a convicted sex offender.
