SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
Officials say a deer jumped through the window of a Saginaw Township consignment store, leaving behind broken glass and spattered blood.
Joel Johnston says he got a call early Monday from an alarm company that police were chasing the deer inside his "Wears Like New" store in the township. It happened around 7 a.m. and police said when they got there, the deer had jumped through another window and attacked its reflection in a mirror.
Police were forced to shoot the animal after catching it due to its extensive injuries.
Authorities believe the deer may have been disoriented before jumping inside. The deer, however, didn't damage clothing that was on racks inside the store.
The store near the intersection of State Street and Center Road was expected to reopen Tuesday following cleanup.
