A new exhibit has opened at the Flint Public Library to raise awareness of the bullying problem in schools.
The "Bullying Awareness Through the Eyes of a Child" exhibit will be on display in the library through the month of June.
Students from six different Genesee County schools who take part in the Genesee Intermediate School District's (GISD) after school programs wrote poems and took pictures to raise awareness of bullying-related issues.
In the poems, students explore the emotions they have related to bullying and express themselves by the writing and the pictures they took. The students take the perspective of the victim, the bystander and the perpetrator.
GISD hopes to use this project as a tool to reduce bullying and mitigate issues when they arise.
