GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
A semi trailer traveling southbound on I-75 struck an overhead sign on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 9 a.m. at the Miller Road overpass in Flint and the sign was pulled from its mountings.
Michigan Department of Transportation spokesperson Anita Richardson told TV5 that while the sign was hanging, two other trucks struck it and debris from these trucks flew out and damaged cars on both south and northbound I-75.
One piece of the sign went through the hood of a woman's car.
The first truck also damaged the sign's structural support beams on the overpass. Richardson said bridge and sign repair crews have fixed the beams and broken sign.
MDOT said Wednesday afternoon that westbound traffic on Miller Road over I-75 had been reduced to one lane until further notice.
