You ever feel as though you're being watched? Some people that work around the Bay County Law Enforcement Center and Bay County Court facility feel that way.
They want the board of commissioners to vote to do something about it. The proposal? Putting frosted window coverings on the jail so inmates can't see out.
But it would cost the county about $10,000 to do it.
Some law enforcement officials TV5 spoke with weren't able to talk on the record, but said covering the windows is long overdue. Many told TV5 they aren't comfortable with inmates being able to see them in area parking lots, or entering the court facility.
On the opposite side of the debate, some people TV5 spoke with say it doesn't matter how close together the buildings are, they say frosting of the windows just isn't necessary.
"Maybe we should put blinders on the prisoners and bring them back and forth to court with blinders on," said one person not in support of the idea. "I don't know, what we are coming to, I don't think it's right."
And while many that work around the area think it's money well spent, others say it could be used elsewhere.
"I think we're overreacting, the county is hurting for money, I think it would be a frivolous waste of money," said another person.
