SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
Friends and family are saying goodbye to a 12-year-old boy who was shot and killed when someone fired more than 10 shots into his grandfather's Saginaw home.
The shooting occurred at the home in the 2000 block of Whittier at about 1:30 a.m. on June 7.
Tamaris "T.J." Steward, a sixth grader at Carrollton Middle School, was visiting his grandfather at the time of the shooting. He was sitting in a chair when he was shot and killed.
More than a dozen spent rifle casings were found near the home.
Steward will be laid to rest following funeral services at the Greater Coleman Temple G.O.G.I.C. World Outreach Campus at 11:30 a.m.
Steward's 66-year-old grandfather suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder during the shooting. He's expected to be OK.
Saginaw police are still searching for suspects.
